BNP Paribas Wealth Management Asia Announces Senior Appointments in Hong Kong

BNP Paribas Wealth Management today announces that Thierry Dana, currently Regional Manager of Switzerland, Southern Europe and Latin America, BNP Paribas Wealth Management, has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of BNP Paribas Wealth Management for Hong Kong and North Asia, with effect from 1st October 2009.

Having been with the BNP Paribas Group for almost 20 years, Mr. Dana has held a number of key managerial and client-facing positions in various markets, with the most recent posting being a Member of the Executive Committee and Regional Manager of Switzerland, Southern Europe and Latin America, managing a sales team of more than 80 staff.

In his new position, Mr. Dana will report directly to Serge Forti, Chief Executive Officer of BNP Paribas Wealth Management Asia Pacific, with a focus on increasing Wealth Management’s presence in North Asian markets.

Commenting on the appointment, Mr. Forti said, “We are very pleased to have brought Thierry on board for this region, which is a key growth component for our Wealth Management business in the world. Mr. Dana brings with him extensive experience in managing multi-cultural and cross-geographical businesses, making him a perfect fit to lead our Wealth Management team here in North Asia.”

Meanwhile, Claude Haberer, currently Chief Executive Officer of BNP Paribas Wealth Management Hong Kong and North Asia, has been appointed Head of Key Clients, Asia, for BNP Paribas Wealth Management, with effect from 1st October 2009. Mr. Haberer will be primarily focused on new client acquisitions and he will also report to Mr. Forti.

“In his new role, Mr. Haberer will use his knowledge and experience of the Asian markets to expand the ultra high net-worth client segment regionally, drawing on the Bank’s comprehensive and innovative product platform,” said Mr. Forti.

“These changes further reinforce BNP Paribas Wealth Management’s commitment to continue serving some of the largest fortunes in Asia, a region that is forecasted to lead high net-worth individual wealth growth for the next 3 years,” he added.
