Position Purpose

  • The role of IT Analyst – pControl sits within the Technical Analyst team which is part of the Information Technology division of BNP Paribas Securities Services (BP2S). The IT Analyst is responsible for the analysis, design and testing activities for all application changes and upgrades.
  • pControl is the application used to support pricing, fund distribution services & APRA reporting. PControl is a vendor developed product, the vendor being the Milestone Group. In addition to the application itself, the Analyst is also required to support the respective interfaces, reports and excel spreadsheets used as part of the end to end process.
  • The team works within a matrix structure, delivering into projects that are managed across all platforms. They communicate with internal and external stakeholders (including business stakeholders in operations, product and coverage, vendors, consultants, suppliers and occasionally BP2S clients).

Key Responsibilities

Business Analysis:

  1. Working with the business to understand the full scope of the services that use pControl as part of their end to end process.
  2. Partnering with the business to define an optimal business solution and delivery on the agreed scope and taking into account all upstream / downstream impacts relevant to the business process.

Functional Design & Testing

  1. Analysing, designing and configuring pControl as per project requirements.
  2. Developing Functional Designs in-conjunction with the business, architects, developers and service delivery staff for all requests for change.
  3. Developing system test cases for all requests for change
  4. Conducting system test execution and producing system test completion reports
  5. Providing UAT and production implementation support

System Upgrades

  1. Working with the vendor to identify the enhancements / fixes to be delivered as part of an upgrade release and working with the business to ensure business benefit is achieved from the upgrade.
  2. Production of system test for enhancements / fixes
  3. System test execution conducted and system test completion report produced.

General

  1. Appropriately applying the development and project management methodology
  2. Providing realistic estimates and delivering within these estimates (time and budget)
  3. Complying with audit and security requirements
  4. Bringing innovative solutions where appropriate

Competencies (Technical / Behavioural)

Technical – must have

  • 5+ years of experience in pControl or unit pricing application in a technical role covering configuration of clients, static data, inbound and outbound data and reporting. 
  • Knowledge of unit pricing for large fund administrators 
  • Experience in a technology change management capacity in the Financial Services Industry
  • Experience in custody or back-office administration for the funds management industry

Technical – desired 

  • Exposure to pControl v4 and/or v6
  • Experience working in Agile methodology 
  • SQL Server experience

Specific Qualifications Required

  • Degree qualified in IT, Business, or related discipline; and / or relevant work experience in a similar role.
