BNP Paribas Appoints Chris Ruffa as President Director of PT Bank BNP Paribas Indonesia
BNP Paribas has appointed Chris Ruffa as President Director of PT Bank BNP Paribas Indonesia, effective 1 October 2025. He reports to Karine Delvallée, Head of Territory for Singapore and Southeast Asia, and will steer the Bank’s strategic growth in Indonesia.
With 30 years of banking experience, including 28 years at BNP Paribas across Paris, London, New York and Sydney, Chris brings deep expertise in global capital markets, demonstrated by a proven record of building new, profitable businesses and structuring and executing landmark deals for the Bank.
Prior to this appointment, Chris was Head of Global Capital Markets for Australia and New Zealand, where he has developed extensive relationships with major corporates and a broad portfolio of multinational clients (MNCs), leading a series of innovative and market-first transactions in the region.
His appointment reinforces BNP Paribas’ long‑term commitment to developing its franchise in Indonesia, further deepening the Bank’s presence across the country’s corporate and institutional landscape.
Karine said: “Chris steps into this leadership role at a pivotal time for our business in Indonesia. His track record leading Global Capital Markets in Australia reflects a sharp understanding of client priorities and sectoral and regional growth dynamics. Importantly, he has been closely engaged with the Bank’s Low Carbon Transition Group (LCTG), which partners with clients to accelerate their energy transition and financing strategies. His experience in this area will be instrumental as we sharpen our focus in Indonesia and deepen our momentum with clients.”
BNP Paribas remains the only French bank that has a fully licensed subsidiary Bank in Indonesia, in addition to Securities and Asset Management licenses.
