Position Purpose

  • Responsible for supporting senior bankers in origination and execution of investment banking pitches, mandates and opportunities
  • Promoting and enhancing BNP Paribas’ IBA franchise in Malaysia

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake company and industry research through various databases (Factset, Bloomberg,regulatory bodies, public sources, etc.)
  • Perform financial analysis and financial modelling (discounted cash flows, trading & transaction comparables, pro-forma analysis)
  • Preparation of pitch books for IBA deals and execution of mandated transactions
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable Compliance requirements
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients at the appropriate level and seniority
  • Appreciation of SC or Bursa regulations such as listing rules, takeover codes, etc.
  • Assist and support senior bankers in achieving the budget for IBA
  • Assist and support senior bankers in securing franchise building mandates
  • To maintain Customer Relationship Management database of contacts and coverage notes
  • To monitor market and industry developments for deal sourcing opportunities
  • Ensure compliance with Bank’s policies/procedures and regulatory requirements, in particular with regards to the KYC responsibilities and duties (per Appendix attached)

Competencies (Technical / Behavioural)

  • Corporate finance/M&A and investment banking skill sets
