Senior Manager, Trust and Fiduciary

What is this position about?

Tasked with overseeing the Company’s fiduciary integrity, the Senior Trust and Fiduciary Manager ensures all obligations are met in rigorous alignment with Singapore’s regulatory requirements. The role is pivotal in upholding excellence in governance, compliance, and client service, while playing a strategic part in the Company’s broader risk management and governance architecture.

What would be your typical day at BNPP Paribas look like? 

Primary Role Responsibilities

•    Monitor, interpret, and implement all relevant regulatory notices, circulars, and guidelines, alongside internal BNP Paribas policies. Proactively ensure that any changes to the regulatory framework or internal policies affecting trust and fiduciary activities are integrated into the Company’s procedures and operational processes.

•    Lead and oversee the negotiation of all regulatory and legal documentation – both proprietary and on behalf of the Company in its capacity as Trustee – to ensure the Company’s interests are protected, collaborating closely with Legal and Compliance departments as required.

•    Collaborate with external counsel to review and comment on constitutional documents (e.g., trust deeds and prospectus), ensuring full compliance with the Securities and Futures Act, the Trust Companies Act, and all relevant CIS-related regulations and codes.

•    Provide expert technical advisory services to clients and internal stakeholders regarding fiduciary obligations, trustee inquiries, and necessary regulatory approvals/reporting. 

•    Responsible and accountable for the management of operational risks and the permanent control framework, including leading the Risk and Controls Self-Assessment (RCSA) process and working with the relevant stakeholders to ensure robust governance.

•    Collaborate with the trustee operational team to deliver and maintain excellence service quality in the provision of the Trustee services ( e.g. review of semi- annual and annual reports of the CIS, signing off of control checklists etc…)

•    Collaborate with relevant stakeholders ( Finance, Compliance etc..) to ensure all regulatory and reporting and surveys are completed and submitted to the relevant Authority on a timely basis.

•    Engage with corporate governance committees, including Board of Directors meetings and oversight control committees, to ensure strict adherence to the BNP Paribas Internal Control Charter. This includes managing conflicts of interest, segregation of duties, and internal control standards, while establishing regular reporting lines to internal stakeholders to provide transparency on compliance status, risk mitigation, and control effectiveness.

•    Participate in any ad-hoc projects or product initiatives initiated by the Company and provide relevant support.

Other contributions

•    Ensure that the Company’s Trustee and Variable Capital Companies(VCC) control manual, procedures and operational processes are in compliance with applicable laws, regulations and the Code of Collective Investment Scheme and will be maintained and kept up to date

What is required for you to succeed?

•    University degree/ post graduate degree in law or Finance

•    Minimum 8 years in experience in legal, trust and other fiduciary services or equivalent experiences

•    Excellence communication and interpersonal skills
